June 20th: The1YearBible.com Intro, Readings & Reaction Inaugural recordings.

Good News/Bad News: The Good – we’re doing a book. It’s called “The Bible”. Don’t worry – we didn’t write it in first person. The Bad: Not launching until August or until one of us can properly pronounce “Belteshazzar”. Lot of takes on that one, for example.
We discovered a need and a niche. The #1 Podcast in the world is Father Mike’s “The Bible in a Year”*. (Saw him in person last night – fantastic). But his podcast goes chronologically, so bumping into “Leviticus” can be brutal if not cruel – causing many to quit the listening habit.
On the other hand the most interesting format to listen to is “The One Year Bible”**, but they took out 7 books the Catholics left in. Apparently Catholics were spooked by the warning from Revelation 22:19 “And if any take anything away from the prophetic words of this book, God will take away from them their share of the fruit of the tree of life and of the Holy City, which are described in this book.”
So until now there was no audio of the complete Bible in the preferred 1 Year format.
Enter the Good News translation (GNT) – with a staggering 244 million hard copies in circulation. Happily the Vatican AND the SBC (Southern Baptist Convention) both approve of the translation. Read by regular Joes (2 husband/wife teams) FOR regular Joes – and ready for interesting if not life changing easy listening before fall.
Meanwhile, knock yourself out with Father Mike or The One Year Online – links below, and for sure LMK if you want to hear about the official launch date of GNT’s “The1YearBible”.
