Miami-Dade County Public Schools partners with FentanylFathers.org 

for a Fentanyl Awareness Kick Off event.

WHO: Miami-Dade County Public Schools officials, FentanylFathers.org officials (all bereaved parents), South Florida Opioid Alliance representatives (SFOA), school staff & students, SAFE – Students Advocating Fentanyl Education, and Florida Poison Information Center (FPIC) – Miami.

WHAT: Fentanyl Awareness Campaign Kick-Off

WHY: M-DCPS is partnering with Fentanyl Fathers and SFOA to launch a Fentanyl Awareness Campaign to educate students, parents and employees about the dangers of illicit fentanyl and counterfeit pills. This kick-off event will include personnel from M-DCPS, from FentanylFathers.org, SFOA, FPIC, the DEA and from SAFE to be available for interview on this #1 issue impacting Florida’s youth.

The latest CDC report lists Florida as #2 in the nation for overdose deaths and fentanyl poisonings at 7,827 – mostly of young people. Fentanyl Fathers is reversing that trend in Miami-Dade with their “riveting” one hour presentations to Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
